Interesting question.

There is a danger in making every aspect of our lives transactional.

Most products and services are valued on how much others are willing to pay for them. Businesses have to sell what consumers are willing to buy at a price they are willing to pay.

However, I think most artists create because art it's intrinsically rewarding.

My guitar playing is worthless to the world, but I find it immensely rewarding. It doesn’t matter how much value I place on it, if no one else wants to hear it.
